19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has had a torrid period, managing just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - resulted in him falling of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently working with Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This represents the player's maiden trophy since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt since that period of the previous year.
Victory also means Medvedev has secured 21 victories at twenty-one different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is really nice," commented ranked player the champion.
"This championship is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I won when my child her name was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his last six finals, featuring in Halle in the past months.
His defensive approach and frequent reactions on court had caused observers to doubt if his skill to perform at the top level was over.
But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to approach the net and perform positively, supported by an enhanced serve.
Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.
Both players exchanged breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to push for a final set.
The opponent rescued 4 initial break points in a tight deciding set before Medvedev broke to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, he earned victory with a rally at the net, with his opponent failing to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
